The most useful messages are specific. For a calculator result that looks wrong, include the inputs you entered and the result you expected. For a form, name the form and the browser you used — printing behaves differently across browsers, and that is usually where a form problem lives. For a correction to a date or a reference table, include the source.

Ideas for tools

If there is a calculation you keep doing by hand, or a form you keep drawing up yourself, describe it. Say what goes in, what should come out, and where the need comes up in your research. Ideas that solve a real recurring problem are the ones most likely to get built.
